We wish you could visit together in person; however, we encourage you to schedule a virtual visit or phone call to stay connected. Please use the contact form above to schedule a virtual visit or call.

Additionally, our Conversation Station remains closed until further notice.

8.11.20

Camelot Nursing and Rehabilitation Center continues to be 100 percent committed to keeping all of our residents, families and team members safe and maintaining a high standard of care for our residents.  We are continuing to closely monitor the COVID-19 (Novel Coronavirus) situation, and we are following all policies and practices as set by state and federal officials.

As of August 11, one staff member tested positive for COVID-19. This individual’s last day of work was August 5. We will continue to monitor all residents and staff and conduct testing for COVID-19 when necessary. Any staff member showing symptoms is not working.

In order to best protect residents and staff, we cannot allow visitors into the facility at this time. Our Conversation Station will also be closed until further notice.

Thank you for your continued support of Camelot Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation. We will provide another update as new information arises.

7.16.20

As of July 16, we are pleased to announce that our facility remains COVID-19-free. Additionally, no residents or staff are showing symptoms at this time.

As cases continue to rise in our area, we are staying vigilant for possible symptoms and we continue to follow all policies and protocols as set by state and federal officials.

At this time, we are screening our staff with the “symptom-based strategy.” Staff who feel ill must exclude from work until:

  • At least three days (72 hours) have passed since recovery, defined as resolution of fever without the use of fever-reducing medications and improvement in respiratory symptoms like coughing and shortness of breath.
  • At least 10 days have passed since symptoms first appeared.

Staff are not required to test negative for COVID-19 in order to return to work. If a team member does want to get tested, they must follow the CDC’s guidelines for their test-based strategy, which includes securing two negative results from an FDA Emergency Use Authorized COVID-19 molecular test.

Finally, we continue to screen employees at the beginning and end of each shift. If a team member develops symptoms at any time throughout their shift, they are asked to go home.

Thank you for your support and understanding as we do our best to protect our residents, staff and families from COVID-19.

6.24.20

As of June 24, we are grateful to report that there are no cases of COVID-19 in our facility. Additionally, no one is showing symptoms at this time.

We are continuing to follow CMS guidelines, so we will not reopen until the guidelines change. However, we recently implemented our Conversation Station that allows you to visit with your loved one at a safe distance with precautionary measures in place. Our residents are able to sit in the station and visit with you outside the station. In between visits, the Conversation Station is cleaned thoroughly.

To schedule a time to meet your loved one at the Conversation Station, call us at (573) 756-8911 and ask for Lisa in our activities department.

We can’t thank you enough for your support of our residents and staff.

6.9.20

As of June 9, all residents have tested negative for COVID-19. We are extremely thankful that we are able to carry out facility-wide testing to ensure safety and provide clarity and peace-of-mind to residents, staff and their families.

As we continue to follow CMS guidelines for re-opening, we know how much you miss connecting with your loved ones. That is why we are excited to introduce the Conversation Station! The Conversation Station will allow families and friends to visit with their loved ones at a safe distance with precautionary measures in place. Our residents will be able to sit in the station and visit with their loved ones outside the station. In between visits, the Conversation Station will be cleaned thoroughly.

We will begin scheduling times for the Conversation Station tomorrow. You must schedule a time to be able to use the station. To schedule a time to visit with your loved one, call us at (573) 756-8911 and ask for Lisa in activities.

6.5.20

The wellbeing of our residents and staff is our utmost priority, and we do not take our responsibility to protect against COVID-19 lightly. While the Governor’s most recent order does take steps to re-open business in Missouri, our mission to protect our residents remains our priority. Many of our residents are considered “high risk” for contracting the virus. Therefore, we will not be able to welcome visitors back into our facility at this time.

As a nursing and rehabilitation facility, we are still mandated by CMS to restrict visitation. The greatest COVID-19 risk comes from the movement of persons into and out of our facility, so until we receive further clarification from CMS, visitation restrictions will remain in place. In the meantime, we will continue to evaluate our residents’ health statuses and needs. We will warmly welcome visitors as soon as the Missouri Department of Health, Missouri Healthcare Association, Department of Inspection and Appeals, our Governor and our medical director all believe it is safe to do so.

We are very sorry for the prolonged disconnection with family members. We understand this is a difficult time for our residents and their families, and please know we are dedicated to keeping you connected with your loved ones during this time. We are still here to facilitate phone calls or video chats.

If you would like to schedule a phone call or virtual call with your family member, we encourage you to reach out at the following link or call (573) 756-8911 during regular business hours Monday – Friday.

So far, we have received 34 negative staff test results back from the lab. We are awaiting 35 additional staff test results and the entirety of our resident test results.

It is our highest priority to do everything we can to prevent exposure to COVID-19. We remain committed to the recommended preventative actions we already have in place and, under the guidance of our medical directors Dr. Moniz and Dr. Roberts, we will continue to refine them as more is learned about how to best defend against exposure.

Camelot Nursing and Rehabilitation Center is 100 percent committed to keeping all of our residents, families and team members safe and maintaining a high standard of care for our residents.  We are continuing to closely monitor the COVID-19 (Novel Coronavirus) situation, and we are following all policies and practices as set by state and federal officials.

Our world continues to be inundated with news from various sources, causing a lot of uncertainty. It is our desire to communicate with the Camelot Nursing and Rehabilitation community regularly and in real-time as we continue to live out our motto of care, compassion and quality of life for all residents.

We are sharing below the current status of our facility, along with all of the precautions that Camelot Nursing and Rehabilitation has taken since this virus first came to light. We hope this transparency provides comfort as we move through this pandemic together.

In response to a positive test from an employee, we have made the proactive decision to test all residents and employees, regardless of whether or not they are showing symptoms, beginning May 27. This employee has not worked since April 27, 2020.

Defensive measures currently in place include:

  • Closely monitoring and screening all residents and team members for symptoms on a daily and shift-by-shift basis. This includes temperature checks and other CDC recommended screenings. We are screening residents three times per day as well.
  • Enforcing social distancing, maintaining six feet between all individuals and limiting community activities.
  • Allowing only essential individuals (those providing needed essential care for residents) into the community.
  • Practicing frequent hand hygiene in accordance with CDC guidelines.
  • Frequent disinfecting of commonly touched environmental surfaces to decrease environmental contamination.
  • Taking higher than required protective equipment precautions, such as wearing masks, gloves and gowns as situations warrant their use.
  • Encouraging all residents to stay in their rooms as much as possible to better protect themselves.
  • Permitting only virtual tours and enforcing strict screening measures for new residents until further notice.

We are grateful for your adherence to these rules so that together we can keep everyone safe. Thank you in advance for your continued cooperation as we partner together to limit exposure to COVID-19. If you have questions, please contact us at the button above or (573) 756-8911.
